# GiftBow

> Gift wrapping and gift messages at checkout for OpoShop stores. A "This is a gift"
> toggle beside the buy button adds a real paid gift-wrap line to the shopper's cart and
> collects their handwritten-style note; the note rides onto the order, and the merchant
> works a Gift Queue showing every order that needs wrapping and exactly what to write on
> the card.

GiftBow is published by Found and installs from the OpoShop App Store.

## What it does
- Adds a gift-wrap toggle under the buy box on product pages and on the cart page.
- Turning it on adds the merchant's own gift-wrap product to the cart at the merchant's price.
- Collects a free gift message (plus optional To / From lines) and writes it onto the order
  as an OpoShop personalisation value, so it is visible in the merchant's own order screen.
- Gives the merchant a Gift Queue: every order that bought wrapping, with the note set in
  handwriting-size type, a one-tap "mark wrapped", search, and print.
- Lets the merchant choose what is giftable: everything, chosen collections, chosen
  products, or everything-except-these.

## What it deliberately does NOT do
- It does not move money. The wrap fee is charged by the merchant's store through OpoShop's
  own checkout. GiftBow holds no card details, no balance, and takes no commission.
- It does not modify any product except the single gift-wrap product it created.
- It does not place, cancel or fulfil orders, and never emails buyers.
- It does not collect shopper emails, names, addresses, phone numbers or IP addresses.
- It is not suitable for pure print-on-demand stores, which never handle the parcel.

## Honest limits
- Print-on-demand shops cannot use it: nothing to wrap, no card to write.
- Digital products cannot be gift-wrapped; exclude them in Giftable items.
- A gift message can carry at most 1024 characters — OpoShop's own limit for a
  personalisation value.
